The ball or serve with no pace nightmare How many times have I heard that “I can’t handle a ball with no pace” or ” I hate to play against people that hit the ball soft” or “I would rather play against someone who hits the ball hard” and my favorite "I can't handle soft serves"! When was the last time you heard a batter after a baseball game say “that pitcher was throwing the ball so slow I could not handle it”The reason why most of my student struggle against soft hitters is their lack of understanding of where their hitting zone is on their groundstrokes. The struggle comes from the first move wanting to charge the ball since it was hit softly only to find yourself overcrowding the ball at contact.
